The council has recently embarked on a review of the Gosport Borough Local Plan 2011–2029.
The key issues that we will be focusing on are:
- maximising opportunities to provide jobs and enhance skills on the peninsula and reduce the current high levels of out-commuting
- maximising the potential for marine and related uses and improving access to the waterfront
- alleviating congestion, improving the borough’s infrastructure and increasing options for travel choice
- regenerating a significant number of brownfield sites and bringing unique heritage assets back into use by addressing the challenges created by poor levels of maintenance, contamination, flooding and nature conservation issues
- creating vibrant places to live
- improving health and wellbeing
- protecting and enhancing the borough’s important habitats and open spaces
